This President is a cancer we must survive till it has been extracted and the infection checked. This is not hyperbole. I remember the feeling from my cancer fifteen years ago. I was sure I would die. If the disease didn’t kill me, the pain would. I went on – a day at a time. I didn’t die. My oncologist pronounced me cured, which I didn’t believe and still don’t. Cancer never vanishes. Once diseased always, more or less.
Gradually Americans are waking from our dream of superiority. Our President has threatened genocide. This is not an opinion, not debatable: to threaten genocide is a crime. To participate in the commission of genocide is a crime. America has become an outlaw state, a sponsor of terror. No longer can we explain away our behavior as a political problem which politics will fix. Politics may incise the tumor – if a vote’s permitted: we’ll know in a few months. But the infection’s deeper than one person or even a gang. The disease is in us. We made this choice, we tolerated these violations, we failed to defend the right. Diseased is who we are.
So now what?
We must live, for starters. Disgusted we may be, disgraced, despondent, but not desolate. But how to live? Like the parents of a school shooter, we’re stuck with our facts. But there’s still time. For what?
Let’s start with the mirror. Do we want to be a people that gloats over destroying a civilization that’s endured seven thousand years? What does civilization mean if not to protect and promote the best of who we’ve been? Do we want to massacre millions who pose no threat to us? To outsiders looking in, that defines the United States today. But you and I believe this isn’t who we are. We made an horrific mistake electing the Nameless One, we bred a school shooter, but we can – and must – repair, repent, remediate – NOW. This monster and his minions must be removed – NOW. We must begin our long expiation and pitch to rejoin the civilized world – NOW. We cannot wait “to see what happens.” Wait and we may have no world left.
We must demand from our elected leaders humanity in place of vanity. Political parties don’t matter when the ship is sinking. We must demand of our military sanity in place of servility. You are being asked to slaughter innocents. Say NO!
Does this mean civil war? I suppose. But it’s a war already long begun. The plutocrats have plotted this theft of America for years – their heist is almost accomplished.
But how to wage this war? The criminals have the guns, the authority.
If half of America’s 340 millions say no, this government’s authority will be eroded and the soldiers’ guns be stopped. And we can count on the support of all freedom-loving nations, formerly our allies, to help save us from ourselves.
Are such thoughts extreme? Am I losing my cool? You bet. Now is no time for cool. Most of the thinkers I respect are losing theirs. In two hundred and fifty years America has never faced such a dire threat – or posed such a danger to earth.
Let Thomas Pain infuse us again:
Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedThese are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but they who stand it now, deserve the love and thanks of man and woman.
We must act in defense of humanity and ourselves – NOW.
Better together.
